Digital South Projects

These projects represents work being done in a variety of humanities and social sciences departments at Carolina. They demonstrate how digital methods can be used to advance the study and teaching of the American South. Methods are wide-ranging and include GIS mapping, podcasting, text analysis, and more, resulting in an intellectually rich array of projects.

The projects featured here are recent. They demonstrate that Carolina is rich with digital pedagogy initiatives that foster collaboration among faculty, staff, and students of all standing. Some projects are focused on the classroom, while others originate from scholars’ research that makes use of special collections, digitized newspapers, and beyond.
